A TV star in the making

By the Beresfords Marketing Team - 18th January 2016

On Friday 5th February, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is running their annual Wear It. Beat It. initiative, which asks the general public to wear red and host an event to help fund the charity's lifesaving research.

To promote the event, a national advertisement is currently running across the television channels which features our very own Alex Beresford, Manager of Beresfords Chelmsford branch. You can view the advert below.

For those who are not aware of Alex's story, Alex underwent open heart surgery at the age of 26. First diagnosed in September 2013 as a heart murmur, he was referred for an ultrasound and a CT scan which identified both a leaky bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and an aneurysm of the aortic root. In February 2014, Alex underwent open heart surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, where the revolutionary 'David Procedure' was used to fix both the aneurysm and the valve. If it wasn't for the BHF's work, Alex may have not been able to undergo the procedure that he did.

As you would expect, Beresfords employees will be supporting the charity by wearing red on the 5th of February.
